Used to be great. Seems to have gone down hill over the last couple of years. Food seems less spicy and I feel like they rush you out the door. It's a shame, it used to be one of my favorites
MoreHands down, THE BEST DOSA place in NY that I have found, and believe me I have looked for other contenders in/near the city area where I now live, but House of Dosas beats them all!! So I make it a point to stop and eat whenever I'm passing through the Hicksville area, and will be back at the end of the month for my birthday dinner with some friends who love it as much as I do!! 😍🙏
MoreA local favorite. Fresh food reasonable prices. Excellent service! Quality preparation and flavor. Always something new if you get Tali! Highly recommended, it's a mix of all great foods.Dessert is not to be missed , ever! Rasmalai is always light house made. Lychee shake has pieces of real Lychee! Tea is wonderful , flavors abound! I return multiple time a week. It's like home away from home. Staff is more than friendly, they're like family.
MoreWe go every week very yummy food ! And there next door store is beautiful!
Very good food and service. Can't go wrong.
One of the best South Indian Restaurants. Great Food and nice Ambience. Mouth Watering dishes, it’s must for all the foodies out there.
Morethis food is SO SO good and the staff are so friendly. I’m not familiar with Indian food but they explained the whole menu to us. They even sent out some apps for free for us just to try to see how we liked them. I live 1.5 from here but I try to go every time I pass by.
MoreOmgggggg they make the best doses in all of NYC. YOU MUST GOOOOOO
The absolute worst place I’ve ever been to. I went there with my family and the food was garbage. There is no flavor to anything even the coffee we bought was bad. How bad do you have to be to mess coffee up?. We’ve been having stomach problems ever since we’ve been there. 0/10 would not recommend going there. The stuff we bought wasMasala dosas (tasted old and it doesn’t even slightly taste like actual South Indian dosas$Cheese Pondicherry dosas Coffee (the coffee was very bitter and it tasted like microwaved coffee)Mango lassi
MoreHave been going here for years, there's a reason this is Zagat rated. Everything on the menu is great, never ordered anything I didn't like. Prices do seem to increase over the years though, I highly recommend trying the gunpowder dosa.
MoreGreat vegetarian choices! LOVE LOVE LOVE
Definitely my favorite restaurant to go to for dosas. It’s always very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I can always guarantee leaving happy. I also appreciate the little shop that’s connected to the restaurant, it’s a good distraction is case there’s a busy weekend wait.
MoreMy girlfriend and I are frequent diners as well as huge fans of the Divine shop next door! Wonderful people with the best food and great service! Thank you for all the great times at your restaurant!
MoreThe Malgudi Dosa is excellent! I would recommend this place to everyone, I haven’t eaten a gross thing here.
MoreI went with my husband on a labor day weekend-last week for a quick Lunch. What a wonderful place! This is a very clean & good ambiance vegetarian place I ever been to. The manager & staffs were friendly and attentive . we had great experience & highly recommend this amazing place. The portions were large & we wound up having a 3-course meal and took the leftovers home :-).Shiyama
MoreGood south Indian fare
Service n food very good .
Onion Rava Masoor Masala Dosa is Best!!!
Best food ever and outstandingService
House of Dosas is a shining light of authenticity. The food here is nothing short of incredible. Everything is jam packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The service can be a little slow at times, but the food is certainly worth the wait. If you are in Hicksville for any given amount of time, stop by, its worth it.
MoreDecent place. Dosas are ok. One of the cleanest bathrooms I have eve seen at an indian restaurant
MoreThe only place on the island to eat a truly authentic dosa. The owner is helpful & always around making sure customer service is excellent. The place is always clean & they make a mean bhel & coffee too!
MoreOne of my favorite spots to grab something to eat. good location, well organised, and good customer service. A must try!
MoreMy first Indian eat out place in NY, the ambiance is good, staff are polite, food taste is average. The services good. May be the ingredients they use are not as desi as the dosa. But definitely a good place if you are craving for South Indian food.
MoreHigh prices & poor quality also owner is very rude .my daughter is allergic to outside water & he refused her to drink water she brought ,also he rudely told her to put bottle down. will not recommend.
MoreAuthentic Indian food in a warm inviting seeing. Food was very spicy even though we ordered mild, but would recommend it anyway
MoreDelicious. Ate the pakora appetizers which was fantastic along with the lunch special which for the price was great. Three of the assortment of seven I didn't eat either because of the taste or dairy which I asked to not have. Otherwise the service was prompt and friendly. Will return. PS. They now accept MC and Visa.
MoreWhat an excellent experience. It is a small family-run vegetarian Indian cuisine restaurant. The owner and his wife are very friendly and the food is fantastic
MoreI keep coming back! Favorite place for lunch. Excellent service, high quality food. Reasonably priced. Adjoining store has soaps, incense, perfume, oils, books, clothes, statues, and more. Home made Rasmalai, excellent Sambar, Tali, Dosas, Chai Tea, everything I've ever tried is incredibly satisfying. There is a reason why people keep returning to a great restaurant like this.
MoreThe House If Dosas is by far the best Indian Restaurants I have ever been to, and definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in general. I can not recommend this place more! It’s amazing!
MoreExcellent south Indian cuisine. Spot on flavors and dish preparation. Vegetarian and vegan only. Must visit to enjoy south Indian cuisine.
MoreI always come by buying some food in here. I enjoyed the prompt customer service and well prepared food. Fantastic work.
MoreWorst DOSA worst Indian Restraunt in the area, please AVOID, DONT waste your money here, just go to Sarvana Bhawan or Dosa World cross this restraunt...I never seen sambar like this, and chatni cup size is a size of a Bite.... If you are not Indian and want to try Indian food, this is the last place you’d consider.....
MoreThe service was good. Its a nice place. Parking space available. Staff is good. The food is very tasty.
MoreFood is tasty and always filling. I'm not a vegetarian but boy I get a good meal there. Fast service, good food, nice environment.
MoreMasala Dosa here is THE best dosa in New York. They have more than 30 different style/types
MoreIn a word? Delicious. Quite frankly I am surprised there was not a line out the door
MoreBest variety of Dosas .. nothing is even close to House of Dosas. My favorite is mysore masala Dosa followed by the amazing badam halwa and the masala tea. Can't go wrong.
MoreOwner and staff is rude & poor service with high prices & poor quality / less quantity. Avoid this food restaurant.
MoreExcellent doses and Indian food. I have eated at dozens of restaurants of all sizes and varieties. The food did take long to come out on a day that wasnt busy but it was well worth the wait. Portions were good, the flavor of food was authentic and it was not too oily. I enjoyed my dosa and the food I ordered. This I'd a vegetarian only restaurant and there are many options, which is something vegetarians have a hard time finding. I will definitely become a regular here.
MoreAwesome indian vegetarian restaurant...you will lots of dosa varieties...very tasty and unique. Reservation is must as there is a waiting time always..mparking is available at the back of the restaurant. Very quick service
MoreOver priced. Average taste. And a 15% covid surcharge to boot. Bye!!!
If you craving for Indian food good place to try out
unclean, we saw Roach in our food. Place needs to be inspected.
I love this place! The staff and food both make you want to come here again and again! The food here tastes very authentic and tasty! Also their customer service during the pandemic was amazing as well. Really great food!
MoreI've been coming here for years. The last couple of months times I came here in the past year or so, the dosas were a bit dryer than usual - not enough butter. But I went again a couple of days ago and the dosas were really good! Recommended.
MoreGreat casual lunch spot. Quick service and amazing dosas. Especially liked the coconut rice. Very good South Indian food.
MoreRemarkably different food to what l grew up with, but pleasing to the eye and very tasty. I will have it again. We also liked that we were also allowed to linger a bit and not pressured to leave. A great experience.
MoreThe best masala dosas on Long Island! This place is always packed but the wait is never more than 10-15 minutes for a party of 2. Everything we've tried so far has not disappointed us. My favorite dish is the Spring Masala Dosa... yummy.
MoreMy friend and I went here to experience their dosas which is have heard good things for years. However, their chutneys, samba, and paneer dosa were underwhelming for their price.
